Terms and Conditions of Service

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The Gleam Team Cleaning Services
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by The Gleam Team Cleaning Services. By requesting a booking, paying a deposit, or accepting a quote, the client agrees to these Terms and Conditions in full.
1. Services and Pricing
All cleaning services are provided at a fixed quoted price, not hourly, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Quotes are based on the information provided by the client, including property size, condition, and scope of work. If the actual condition or scope differs from what was quoted, we reserve the right to adjust the price or decline additional work until approval is given.
2. Deposit and Booking Confirmation
A 50 percent deposit is required for all bookings, including residential, exit cleans, and commercial services.
The deposit:
Secures the booking date and time
Confirms allocation of cleaners and resources
Is required to prevent false or non-genuine bookings
Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.
Deposits are non-refundable if the booking is cancelled outside the cancellation notice period.
3. Payment Terms
The remaining balance is payable on the day of service completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Invoices not paid by the due date may incur:
Interest at 18 percent per annum, calculated daily
Reasonable administration or recovery costs incurred
Failure to pay may result in suspension of services and recovery action.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made within the agreed notice period.
Late cancellations may result in:
Forfeiture of the deposit
Additional charges if costs have already been incurred
This applies to all service types.
5. Health and Safety
The Gleam Team Cleaning Services operates in accordance with New Zealand health and safety requirements.
Clients must ensure the property is safe and accessible at the time of service, including:
Clear access to agreed work areas
Safe and stable floors, stairs, and surfaces
Adequate lighting and ventilation
Access to water and electricity where required
We reserve the right to stop or refuse work if conditions are unsafe or pose a risk to our staff or contractors.
6. Mould and Hazardous Conditions
Standard cleaning services do not include specialist mould remediation, biohazard cleaning, or treatment of hazardous substances.
Where mould, mildew, or fungal growth is present:
Surface cleaning may be carried out at our discretion
Complete removal or prevention of regrowth is not guaranteed
Structural or severe mould requires specialist remediation
We are not responsible for:
Health effects associated with mould exposure
Hidden mould not visible at the time of service
Mould recurrence caused by moisture, ventilation, or building conditions
7. Access and Utilities
The client is responsible for ensuring:
The property is accessible at the agreed time
Water and electricity are available during the service
If access or utilities are unavailable, the service may be cancelled or rescheduled, and a call-out or cancellation fee may apply.
8. Limitations of Cleaning
Cleaning is a cosmetic service only. Results depend on the age and condition of surfaces.
We do not guarantee removal of:
Permanent stains
Discolouration or etching
Damage caused prior to our service
Cleaning does not repair, restore, or replace damaged surfaces.
9. Pre-Existing Damage and Wear and Tear
We are not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing conditions, including:
Normal wear and tear
Age-related deterioration
Poor installation or defective materials
Fragile or unstable surfaces
This includes items such as peeling paint, worn grout or silicone, damaged cabinetry, or warped flooring.
10. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse or stop services if:
The property is unsafe or hazardous
Aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour occurs
The scope of work differs significantly from what was quoted
Payment or deposit requirements have not been met
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, The Gleam Team Cleaning Services is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Where liability applies, it is limited to the value of the service provided.
12. Agreement
By paying a deposit, confirming a booking, or accepting a quote, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions of Service.
